The Host Communities Merit Award 

This is only open to applicants strictly from APDNL host communities. Only APDNL Host Communities Indigenes from Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and Imo States should apply for the Host Communities Merit Award.

The National Merit Awards|NNPC scholarship for undergraduate

This is a national merit scholarship for Nigerian undergraduates open to non-indigenes of the host communities. Therefore if you are not from Rivers state, Akwa Ibom, or Imo state, you are eligible to apply for this category of the scholarship scheme.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation(NNPC) is the oil corporation through which the federal government of Nigeria regulates and participates in the country’s petroleum industry.

Therefore, as a way of contributing to the Nigerian community, introducing the  NNPC scholarship for undergraduates was a welcome development that has, over the years, seen intelligent and talented Nigerian students without hope of finishing their higher education go through school.

The scholarship is worth N100,000 annually throughout your study year for university students, but for polytechnic students, it’s only for the OND Ordinary National Diploma(2 years)

What are the NNPC/ADDAX Scholarship Requirements?

To apply for this NNPC / ADDAX Scholarship, Candidate

  • Registered Full-TIME undergraduates in Nigerian Tertiary Institutions
  • Certified 100-level students at the time of application (Only students admitted in the 2019/2020 academic session)
  • For OND students, the award will be for 2 years only

NOTE: The following categories of students should not apply:

  • 200 level students and above
  • HND students
  • Current beneficiaries of similar Awards from other Companies and Agencies

How to Apply for NNPC/ADDAX Scholarship 2023

Over the years, students who apply for this scholarship usually send their applications and documents to a provided email address, but that is not the case this year. The application method has changed, and we want you to follow the steps below carefully.

The application is open to 100-level students only.

1. Before you start this application, ensure you have scanned copies of the following documents

  • Passport photograph with white background not more than 3 months old (450px by 450px not more than 200kb)
  • School ID Card
  • O’level Certificate
  • Admission Letter
  • Birth Certificate
  • Proof of Local Government Area of Origin
  • Letter from Community Leader (Only Applicants for Host Communities Merit Award)
  • JAMB Result

2. Ensure the documents are named according to what they represent to avoid mixing up documents during upload
3. Ensure you attach the appropriate documents when asked to upload
4. Ensure to provide valid Email and Phone Contact for effective communication

To apply, follow the steps below:
1.    Click on the “Apply Now” tab.

2. Click on “Register Now” to create an account.
3. Proceed to your email box to activate your account
4. Click on www.scholastica.ng/schemes/addaxscholarship to return to the Scholarship site
5. Enter your registered email and password to upload your information.
6. Enter your personal information, your National Identification Number (if available), educational information, and other information, and upload the required scanned documents.


7. Ensure the name used in the application matches the names on all documentation in the same order. Upload an affidavit or certificate if otherwise.
8. Ensure you view all documents after uploading to eliminate errors during uploading.
9. When asked to upload a photo, a passport photograph with a white background is preferable.
10. Recheck application information to avoid errors
11. Click “Apply Now” to submit information
12. You will receive an email and an SMS confirming your successful application.
13. Return to www.scholastica.ng, enter your email and password to download your profile, and then proceed to have your head of department sign the document.
14. Upload a scanned copy of the signed profile; this will be used for verification.
15. If the National Identification Number (NIN) number was not available in step 6, to obtain your National Identification Number (NIN)

  • Visit https://ninenrol.gov.ng to register and learn more about the National Identity Number.
  • Click “Create Account” and fill in the required  fields
  • Login with your Email and Password to complete the form
  • After completion, schedule a date for photo and fingerprint capture.
  • Visit any of the captures centers https://www.nimc.gov.ng/?q=nin-registration-centres  to complete the registration process and obtain your National Identity Number.
  • You can also do your total registration at the NIMC office.

16. Return to www.scholastica.ng/schemes/addaxscholarship and update the application with National Identification Number (NIN) to ensure completion

Note:
Multiple applications attract a disqualification penalty from the Scholarship Board.
Obtaining NIN is not compulsory to complete your application

NNPC/ADDAX Scholarship Important Note:

  • Applications for the scholarship award without all the above credentials will be rejected.
  • Any candidate currently a beneficiary of a Scholarship of any kind Is not eligible to apply.
  • Dependants of employees of Addax are not eligible to apply.

NNPC/ADDAX Scholarship Aptitude Test venues

Applicants must indicate their preferred center for the test Centers are

  1. Abuja
  2. Lagos
  3. Owerri
  4. Port Harcourt

NOTE: The aptitude test will take place at designated centers to be communicated to applicants later. Applicants are to fully bear the cost of transportation to and from Aptitude test centers.

2023 NNPC/ADDAX Scholarship Deadline.

All NNPC/ADDAX Tertiary Institutions National Merit Scholarship and Host Communities Merit Award applications will close on 26th May.
