Scholarships for Students with Disabilities 2019
Qualified War veterans scholarship
This is an annual merit-based scholarship for disabled persons. The scholarship is offered by The Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA).
Thus, the scholarship is offered to assist honourably discharged veterans and disabled veterans of the United States military who are currently enrolled full-time in an accredited university.
Candidates for the scholarship must be majoring in fields related to engineering, technology, computer science, security, information systems, physics, or mathematics.
In order to apply for this scholarship, applicants are required to submit a copy of their Certificate of Service, Discharged Form DD214, or a copy of their current Coast Guard Identification Card.

Gabriel’s Foundation of Hope Scholarship
In honour of Gabriel who was born with severe congenital birth defects in 1990, the Gabriel’s Foundation of Hope provides several $500 scholarships annually.
Eligible applicants for the funds include;
- College students living with a diagnosed disability
- Students desiring to work in a field that will benefit the disabled community
- And immediate family members who reside with a person with a disability and are seeking financial assistance to further their education.
Several $500 scholarships is offered annually

Google Lime Scholarships for People with Disabilities
Since 2008, Google has been committed to supporting the work of Lime Connect.
Google is committed to helping the innovators of the future make the most of their talents by providing scholarships and networking retreats for computer science students with disabilities.
2019 Google Lime Scholarship awardees will be in receipt of a scholarship for the 2019-2020 academic year.
In addition, selected students will receive an invitation to attend the annual Google Scholars’ Retreat at the Googleplex in Mountain View, California, in Summer 2019.
Candidates of this scholarship program will also be considered for software engineering internship opportunities with Google.
The basis on which scholarships will be awarded is on the strength of candidates’ academic background and a demonstrated passion
$10,000 for those studying in the US and $5,000 for those studying in Canada (based on tuition costs).
The 2019 application closed on Sunday, December 9th, 2018 at 11:59pm PST.
Annie Ford and Allegra Ford Thomas scholarship application
The Anne Ford and Allegra Ford Thomas Scholarships receive annual grants from the National Center for Learning Disabilities.
Two graduating high school seniors with documented learning disabilities who are seeking assistance to pursue a postsecondary degree are offered this scholarship.
Annie Ford Scholarship will give out $2,500 one-time scholarship award to Graduating high school seniors while Allegra Ford Thomas scholarship will give a $10,000 scholarship ($2,500/year over four years) to a graduating high school senior with a documented learning disability and/or ADHD who will be enrolled in a full-time bachelor’s degree program in the fall of 2019.
Students applying for either scholarship is mandated to provide current documentation of their learning disability or ADHD.
Students can start the submission of applications from August 9th. All applications and supporting materials is mandated to be submitted by November 12th.
Kristofer Robinson Scholarships for Students with Disabilities
This scholarship program is awarded to students who are paraplegic or quadriplegic and are residents of the State of Texas.
Through this program, recipients are provided with tuition, books, and necessary appliances in relation to the particular needs of the student in pursuit of an education at any accredited school in the State of Texas, whether public or private, including elementary school, junior high school, high school, technical school, college or university and graduate school. This scholarship is renewable.
National MS Soviet Scholarships for People with Disabilities
The National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society is structured to give support to the families impacted by MS by connecting them to key resources.
The scholarship also provides the support that will enable them to reduce the cost and isolation that is existent for students affected by MS who are in pursuit of a college education.
These scholarship resources can help with college costs such as tuition, books, supplies, and living expenses.
Scholarships from the National MS Soviet range from $1,000 to $3,000 depending on eligibility criteria and financial need.

180 Medical College Scholarship Program
This scholarship program was created and is sponsored by 180 Medical in order to help those with spina bifida, spinal cord injuries, transverse myelitis, neurogenic bladder, or ostomy (ileostomy, colostomy, or urostomy).
Consequent upon the financial burdens that are existent for many of these families, 180 Medical developed this Scholarship Program to honour these young adults who are in pursuit of higher education goals.
- Applicants must be legal residents in the United States.
- They must be full time students attending a two-year, four-year, or graduate school program in the fall are eligible to apply.
- Applicants are mandated to be under a physician’s care for a spinal cord injury, spina bifida, transverse myelitis, neurogenic bladder, or ostomy (ileostomy, colostomy, or urostomy).
Seven $1,000 college scholarships
Applicants are to note that the deadline for this year has passed and are to check this program’s Facebook page for updates on next year’s program. Acceptance of applications will commence by January 2020.
ACB Scholarships for People with Disabilities
These scholarships programs are sponsored by American Council of the Blind, Inc. – National Office (ACB).
This scholarship offers blind and visually impaired students the opportunity to attend colleges or universities, purchase computer equipment to make their academic pursuits more attainable, or lessen the need to work during a year of study.
In a bid to reward excellence, the scholarship is provided solely on the basis of merit/academic achievement. The scholarship awards are given to students who are legally blind.
Applicants are to submit an online application with additional required documents.
More than $55,450.
Application for the ACB Scholarship will commence on Nov 1, 2019, with the deadline/closing date of Feb. 15, 2020.
AAHD Friedrich J. Krause Scholarship on Health and Disability
The Committee and Board of Directors in charge of AAHD Scholarship welcomes applications from U.S. citizens or legal residents who are at least a sophomore in college with a documented disability.
Applicants must be full-time undergraduate or part-time/full-time graduate students at an accredited institution in the United States.
Only completed and postmarked applications as at November 15, 2019, will be given consideration.
“Business Plan” Scholarship For Students With Disabilities
This is a semi-annual scholarship for high-school, undergraduate or graduate students created for students with disabilities enrolled at an accredited institution in U.S.
The scholarship is offered to high-school, undergraduate or graduate students with any type of disability (including but not limited to physical disabilities, psychiatric, mental, behaviour or medical conditions, speech/language or learning disabilities).
Number of Awards: 2
The deadline for the application is November 1, 2019, for the Spring semester and April 1, 2020, for the Fall Semester. Notification will be sent to the winners on November 15, 2019, and April 15 2020.
Rehabmart Scholarships for People with Disabilities
Rehabmart is owned and operated by Occupational and Physical Therapists. This scholarship is offered to students in a bid to show gratitude to the health care profession.
The scholarship is open to students with Disabilities, Health Science Students, or Special Needs Education.
$25,000 scholarship fund has been made available by the operators for this program.
NBCUniversal Tony Coelho Media Scholarship for Disabled Students
This is to inform you that AAPD is seeking applicants for the NBCUniversal Tony Coelho Media Scholarship.
This scholarship program will offer four scholarships for the fall of 2019 to 2nd-year associate students; undergraduate sophomores, juniors, and seniors; and graduate students with disabilities pursuing degrees in communication or media-related degrees.

Microsoft Disabilities Scholarships
Candidates applying for this scholarship are mandated to:
- Be a current high school seniors living with a disability (as defined by WHO), whether that be visual, hearing, cognitive, mobility, speech or other disability.
- Demonstrate a passion for technology.
- Demonstrate leadership at school and/or in the community.
- Have a high school cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, just to mention but a few.

BMO Capital Markets Lime Connect Equity Through Education Scholarship
Lime Connect has gratitude to be an Equity Through Education partner of BMO Capital Markets to make scholarships available for students with disabilities.
Applicants must be;
- A current undergraduate or graduate student at a four-year university in the United States or Canada.
- Continuing studies as a full-time student in Fall 2019 with a course load of at least 40%
- In pursuit of a degree in business/commerce, computer science, engineering, math, physics, statistics or a related discipline
- Interested in a career in Financial Services with a focus on Capital Markets preferred
Selected recipients will receive $10,000USD (students in the US) or $5,000USD (students in Canada) to support their future studies.

Alice Chavez Pardini Education Advancement Grant
This scholarship program is sponsored by the San Francisco Chapter of the California Council of the Blind.
It makes up to $2,500 available to a legally blind student who demonstrates a need for assistance in improving his or her access to education.
In order to be eligible for this scholarship, applicants are mandated to be residents within one of the counties of San Francisco, Alameda, San Mateo, Marin, or Contra Costa in California.
